Thank You VICKI DURHAM

My gosh people, Vicki Durham....Vicki Durham

You have no idea has much you mean to me MS DURHAM. You are the one who makes sure we have pictures to play with. The one who understands when things start going too fast so you slow it all down. You are my sister by heart and by technical support and trouble shooter Angel of my life. Thank you for being there even when you didn't have to and making judgements that no one else could that fast. The fact that you put up with me is so much and then....add all the other....THANK YOU over and over for being YOU my dear. Photos by Vicki Durham....and anything technical was inspired by Vicki Durham.

I love you girl,

Ruby

NOVEMBER 2008 - GOOD EATIN'

The Water Color Ruby Gardenia - created especially for Ruby by the amazing LISA CHAPMAN

Hey Everybody,

Here is the undeniable CRAWFISH CORNBREAD that everybody loves. It's gettin colder so shake and bake...it's an easy one. Trust me on this one. Let me know how you like it...but I already know what you will say...it's a tried and true favorite around our place. Thanks to Vicki Durham for not letting it be lost forever because that Kenya Walker has a hard time keeping up with anything. I still love you Kenya...just keep trying to be fabulous you'll get there real soon.

Love,

Ruby Crawfish Cornbread
1 Cup - Martha White Self rising Corn meal - w/buttermilk
1/2 Cup - Vegetable Oil or Butter if you insist
2 - Eggs
1 Cup - Shredded Cheddar Cheese - mild or sharp is fine
1 Cup - Chopped Onions
1Cup - Chopped Bell Pepper
1 Large Can of Cream Style Corn
1 Small Jar of Chopped Pimentos
1/4 Cup - Jalapeno Peppers - if you like it hot you've got to get hotter
1 lb. Craw fish Tails (frozen is fine if you can't get
fresh but fresh is fresh)
Mix Well in Large mixing bowl
Spray 9x13 pan with Pam
Spread in Pan evenly
Bake@ 375 degrees - for 55 minutes

if you buy the crawfish already shelled and frozen in a 1 lb package like at Publix (you sometimes have to ask for it in the fish department but they usually keep it on stock) you can double the amounts of the other ingredients and make 2 pans this is the best way as the first one will be all gone before you know it so you have to hide the second one for yourself.

Ruby On Weddings

From the "Adventures of Ruby Gardenia" Script. Act II scene I

Ruby: Where were we?... Love….right….love has always been the most important thing me…and the most illusive…. But just think about it…I’m a woman who’s marched down the isle of matrimony 7 times… and engaged 9…all with the most sincere intentions of finding true love… and all I have to show for that … besides the jewelry of course…and the 7
wedding dresses…and…well…. 6 to be exact…I loved number 3 so much I wore it twice…not counting the night I wore it to the Governor’s Ball….anyway what I'm trying to say is... all I have to show for the 7 I do’s are the 7 divorce decrees … Know all about love?…I mean really.

I think at my next wedding I’ll put all those wedding gowns in my closet to good use… I might just wear royal purple…or mango madness … and have all the bridesmaids in white… White stands for purity and virginity… Bullmanocky!!! ... White’s not a color!... It’s just the extreme lack of…pig-men-ta-tion.

You know…That might be why… seven “I do’s didn’t take for me…all black and white weddings… Hmmmm……what if it’s all that simple…when you’ve got it goin’ on with just the right color Dress and Shoes….who’s thinking about if it’s the right man.

Ruby: Around here…if anybody has any questions about their wedding…it’s “Ask Ruby” ...hehehehehe….. she knows everything about weddings hehehehehe….but REALLY! what does a perfectly planned wedding have to do with TRUE LOVE?…Yeah they call me

the Wedding Expert to my face…and I know they’re all getting a big kick out of that…and yes I’ve heard what they call me behind my back too hehehehehe .….and I suppose it’s true…that I am also the Divorce expert. But that little joke….stops being funny quick ….when THEY’RE in the middle of it! I get a call most every week from
someone who stopped laughing and started listening. A lady’s gotta learn how to take care of her business.

Take care of yourselves always,

Love,

Ruby

Kenya Walker

http://rubygardenia.com

Hey ya'll,

I want to introduce you to one of my very best friends in the world and one of the writers of my show "THE ADVENTURES OF RUBY GARDENIA"

KENYA WALKER

Kenya has been writing songs since 1987 and professionally since 1991. See what the late Great (and I cannot stress the Great enough) DIANNE PETTY had to say about her.

A Daughter of the South in the sixties, even her name sounds as if it were lifted from the pages of a Tennessee Williams play. Kenya Walker has followed her dream of contributing through the arts with passion and persistence, choosing to leave her home in Alabama in order to make her assault on the Music Industry, she picked a path more daring than the security home and family provided.

Since arriving in Nashville, Kenya has been a staff writer for Maypop Music, Hayes Street Music, BMG Music, and Big Yellow Dog/Sony Music. Several major label country artists have covered her songs. Kenya’s dynamic performance style and masterful writing quickly made her a favorite among the Nashville Songwriting community. She attracted the attention of Don Henry, (Grammy Award winning songwriter/producer/artist) who approached her about embarking on a solo recording career of her own. The end result of this collaboration is the 12 song CD entitled “Alligator Purse”.

The “Alligator Purse” CD led to a special invitation to contribute material for Aaron Spelling’s “Any Day Now”, on Life Time Network by producer and music supervisor request. Kenya co-wrote. Co-produced and performed special feature spots in select episodes of this series in 1998 through 2000 seasons.

Kenya Walker is a flamboyant performing talent and coupled with her dynamic flair for communication her inventive and inspiring songs, she is positioned for greatness. Her passion for touching the heart through her craft and her love of sharing intimate observations of the human spirit will surely be evident when you see her perform. Kenya will not be denied her chance to make the world more responsive to the little child alive in each of us. Listen to her voice and hear her vulnerability that begs us to become more sensitive human beings. Expect to be moved…Expect to be affected by what you hear… Expect to remember…Kenya Walker.

DIANNE PETTY-CDP MUSIC GROUP

I expect that Kenya will be more than willing to post the lyrics to the songs she wrote for me to sing in my show. So I am going to request that she does that every month for those of you who might be interested in the meaning of the songs I'm happy to sing for you.

Love,

Ruby

WELCOME

http://rubygardenia.com

WELCOME!

Welcome....welcome to ASK RUBY. I am so happy to finally be able to answer your letters on the internet.

Please feel free to pour out your heart felt feelings at a place where you can be certain they have reached another caring soul. Remember if it has to do with matters of the heart.......I know how it feels. And if by chance you do find an obscure situation that I have no experience with personally from my 9 engagements and 7 marriages and divorces....well I'll find someone who does.

It's all for fun and hope that someone else out there really cares as much as we do.
Be well and remember....there is always the opportunity to ASK RUBY when all else fails.

Love,

Ruby
